Do you remember?

I finally change my blog song! Whee!

And I went out to buy Cornetto cos I saw it on TV and I suddenly wanted it.

In other news, Kak Liyah has given birth to a baby boy!!! CONGRATS! This calls for a gathering of the party-people! Aishah, Jehan, you guys will get to see the new baby very soon! Wheehee.

Oh and I had a dream about standing outside some ice-cream shop with Abg Mayz and Tina, and carefully selecting our flavours and toppings. Can you imagine me going all the way to Dubai just to get ice-cream? I waant.

remember 너의 두 손을 잡고 함께 달려가는 거야
Scream (ay) to that high sky (eh) to this wide world (eh) DO YOU REMEMBER?!

Ps: Sorry, I'm being annoying. EH?!

posting under 12 mins

Yes I have a time limit!

Anyways, I'm in the Central Library now, and I've just printed about $10 worth of notes - 209 pages and while watching it print, I was suddenly hit by a wave of nostalgia.

I remember in poly, when we had to rush our projects all the time. Why is it our projects are never done until the due date itself, which is when we will all start panicking and get all giggly! So anyways, I remember, that our projects were usually at least 60 pages thick plus plus all the appendix so printing is a complete horror. Especially when you have to reprint the whole damn thing cos you numbered a few pages wrong. It could take you a whole hour just for the formatting and printing parts! I remember how anal Jasmin used to be. Me? I use liquid paper.

So just now, I printed 209 pages in just 10 mins. I dont think much of this whole place but damn are their printers GOOD!

OKOK stop reminding me I'm running out of time! Geez! Okay gotta go collect my stuff at Co-opt now. Tata.

the Silat

Of COURSE I had front seats when it came to the silat, I always do! Anyways, I had really hoped that Asad would come down and strut his stuff a little cos I THINK grooms are allowed to do that but alas, he didn't. These kids were good enough though, my dad was really impressed! I liked the two at the end, they put on quite a show! Haha I think they're like national silat kids so...to be expected.

The kompang people were quite fun too, they sang and did a zapin dance and stuff but I'm too lazy to upload all those. And I just realized they wore a kris at the back, tucked into their kain. Why is that? Why would kompang people need a kris? Weird right.

For high quality viewing of this video, please go straight to the Youtube page. Danke.

another NATural wedding

23rd Jan, Friday - Nadia's & Asad's Nikah!

Photobucket

I thought she really looked like she came straight out of a Hindustan movie and dropped by Tampines to get married. Mak also especially ADORED her outfit! Of course, it's blue, Mak's favourite color!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Check out Abg Asad! Totally Akshay Kumar from the movie Dhadkan!

Photobucket

Hahah Bik Yah!!

Photobucket

Brother of the bride and um, Abak.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

"I did it people! Okay best!"

Photobucket

Can you blame Abang Asad for flinching? This is part of the ceremony where I know eggs and rice have to be thrown.

Photobucket

And then it was Kak Nadia's turn and Mak took a TAD too much rice and threw it at her. Haha!

After the nikah, we mostly just hung around, ate and then of course, Bik Yah started telling ghost stories and we all crowded around going, "Eh, abis tu??"

Yayi came home with us and told me one more juicy story and Tina & me slept late so we could barely wake up the next day and um, ended up coming late. Or SO we thought! Cos our our other cousins were even later!

Photobucket

24th Jan, Sat -

Photobucket

The Tampines Guard.

Kareema's expression - Come at me! I dare you!

Photobucket

Bride making her way to the pelamin before the groom comes. Oh have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE the pelamin?! It's more like a stage! And our carpet was there! And behind the pelamin were a couple of cool air-conditioners-like things. Whee!

Photobucket

And so the groom came, looking all cool with those official silat people in front of him! Cos um, he is a silat...person himself!

Photobucket

Have you ever seen people so excited to guard their fort?

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

This part was pretty funny! They really wouldn't allow Abg Asad through so he gave them money and Shamir took it and left, leaving his sisters behind, who demanded more payment. Abg Asad then tried to duck underneath those senduk things Jehan & Kareema were holding but he couldn't so he dutifully coughed up more dough.

Photobucket

And YAY he's through!

Tina & me is of the opinion that WE should have done something like that at Bai's wedding. But it's silly of course, you can't stop the BRIDE. SO actually, we should have just stopped our own brother from attending his own wedding and made him pay us first. Hold one of the hantarans hostage or something.

Photobucket

Eh it's really hard to get to the bride okay! Gotta pay up somemore when he reaches the pelamin but at last, they're together!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tina & me are so out of the circle lah! We're always not with the theme. The theme for Sat was "Jawa" and we came wearing cheongsams. It's really not fun when it's just the two of us being the odd ones out. Iza, Aishah, where are you Adis?!

Me: "Ehhh semua orang nyer wedding ada theme eh! Bubu nyer ada theme, Kak Nadia nyer ada theme. Abang nyer takde eh?!"

Tina: "Abang nyer ada natural occuring theme - NATural chaos!"

Again, the two of us think that Bai should redo his wedding. Alot of things we didn't get to do cos it was so out of control! Oh and we're full of praise for Nadia's three photographers and 1 video-camera-er person. They took pictures of the siblings on their own semua, candid shots of the guest! The photographer at Bai's wedding didn't take our picture unless the pengantins were with us! BOO.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Tears and more tears. Oh when Nadia was leaving in the car, and hugging her family and her SISTERS, aaahhhh it was really sad. I swear, it seemed like everybody was crying. I can't help but imagine when MY sisters get married and how sad I would be. Yes, I WOULD be sad, regardless of how much I might dislike them sometimes. Tina & me plan to throw things about in our grief and just create a massive scene. Hitting our foreheads and all that. We are after all, ehem, mamas.

Oh and I cant get over how crisp and clean Uncle looks in photos. Totally calm and unruffled. I remember how Abak looked like during Bai's wedding. His sleeves were all rolled up and he basically looked like Bangla cuci pinggan. How brilliant. AND, we didn't get to take a full family photo. It was always just the sisters. Ridiculous!

Photobucket

FINALLY, our cousins came (together, suspiciously) and Tina, Kak Liyah & me were entertained!

Photobucket

From left to right - Married, married, not married, gonna get married soon I guess, not married, married, married and pregnant.

OMG!!!! SO OLD SIA. Stoppet sey!

Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

I can say HONESTLY, that I love this boy. He refused to say hi to us at first but after letting him rummage through Tina's bag and put compact powder on himself and us, he was all sweet and grinning.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Abang Wan, up to no good, scribbling in the guestbook. I think I enjoyed the wedding so much was probably because of how much I laughed.

Photobucket

Let's see, Abang Wan, Noh, Rohmad and of all people, BIK YAH, were the main culprits in writing nonsense in Nadia's guestbook. The many, "I love you - I love you too - You tak love I ke?" and then, the whole framing of PAMAN KAM, who didn't even turn up for the wedding!! And Bik Yah framing Rohmad after that. It was sooo funny!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

And Wak Sin & Jehan sang a few songs and Jehan got flowers from Tina, Noh and also some HUGE flowers from Rohmad.

My camera died soon after that but what happened next was that Mami, mother of the bride, was escorted up to sing and the cousins were in uproar, trying to find flowers and such to give to her. Guess what they took?

The FREAKING HUGE VASE OF FLOWERS at the entrance of the hall, which was actually USED for decoration so you can imagine how big it was. Noh & Bai both had to carry it all the way to the front to give to Mami. Hahah it was so merepek nak mampos. My cousins are MATS I tell you! The horror.

Photobucket

25th Jan Sunday - Asad's side

Photobucket

We went to the silat place at Bedok, but unfortunately came too late and missed the silat performance! I hope somebody uploads it!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

The cake was made of donuts! How brilliant! We got wedding cake from Saturday, about 4 boxes. I ate all four boxes. HEHEH.

Photobucket

Okay that's all peace out! Oh and hopefully Kak Liyah gives birth before Feb 15, so Jehan can see the new baby before she goes back and we all can get together again and have a reason to be more kecoh! EVERYBODY loves Ryan and dotes on him, I think it's time we move onto a new baby!

NATural freezing!

3rd Jan, Saturday - The Failed Beach Attempt

So we excitedly got ready, Iza gave me back my stolen "Krabi" shorts and we packed lots of snacks and goodies....

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

And we got there, and it was FREEZING. I'm from a tropical country! I can't stand it! The wind was blasting at us like a couple of.....airconditioners? Anyways, I was screaming to all who would listen, "IT'S TOO COLD TO DO ANYTHING!!!"

(*KOREAN ALERT* Which reminds me of when Seung Gi was shouting, "Hyung, it's snowing and we're in a convertible!!!)

Photobucket

Me grabbing Mak in desperation to get warm.

Photobucket

Burj Al-Arab. (The biggest + in the world! GASPS)

Photobucket

Just some building I thought looked like somewhere Clark Kent and Lois Lane would work at. Ummm...Metropolis?

Photobucket

They've got alot of construction going on in Dubai. Here, a.....ball thingy in action.

Photobucket

Abang Mayz, checking out a car that he MIGHT buy for his brother. Don't know if he did. I remember him driving and seeing a...(what was the car he used to drive? Covet?) car zoom past and he was like "WHOO Go for it man! Go go! God bless you!" It was so dramatic that I found it funny!

Anyways, we moved to another part of the beach, hoping that it would be less cold. Buuuut, nope.

Photobucket

Look at Mak's face. "Aper nie sejuk-sejuk nie...."

Photobucket
Photobucket

Iza said to me, "Adah, you look like a Bangla dengan kain2 kau semua..." Basket. Oh and Iza & me had just shaved, and we tried just stepping into the water to check if it was cold and it wasnt THAT cold BUUUT, OUCH, our legs started stinging like crazy so we started screaming. Yes tragic I know.

We didn't even last 20 mins.

Photobucket

Defeated, in the car.

I think we went somewhere else after that but I can't really remember. On to next day!

4th Jan, Sunday - I think this was the day Aishah had a flight, again, and we somehow managed to zoom to Sharjah for awhile to get kurmas?? THAT was cool, we were all patting ourselves on the back for a job well done.

Photobucket

AIYOOHH MINUM APER TUUUUU. Air.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Outlet Mall, where I bought my very first....thing.

Photobucket

This is something weird about Dubai that I cannot grasp. Apparently, according to Abang Mayz, if you're crossing the road, just cross cos the cars will and SHOULD slow down for you and wait for you to pass. Even if you're jaywalking. My instinct is to stop and let the cars pass so we get a deadlock.

So ever since I got back to Spore, Ive been tsking more than ever at the drivers here. At the ZEBRA CROSSING pon I dont trust them to stop. I always stop first to check and as usual, got the stupid BUGGERS here on our roads, just zooming past and ignoring me, the poor pedestrian. *waves a ticket at you* YOU BUGGER CLOWN!

Photobucket

I swear, there are camels in this picture. THERE ARE!!!! We were like, "CAAAMEEELSSS!!" so Abang Mayz obligingly drove one more round so we could take pictures. I think I ended up recording the trees but THIS PICTURE HERE, has camels.

Photobucket

Karama!!

Photobucket

Where Iza finally found the Sheikh that she has been looking for.

Photobucket

And Tina & Me found Bai.

Photobucket

Going to pick Aishah up. Our surprise spoiled cos of Iza's "OKOK I'LL CALLYOUBACK I'LL CALLYOUBACK!" URGH, I should have answered that call!

5th Jan, Monday - SKI DUBAI day!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Iza drove the car for that day.

NOT. I would rather take the public transport with the Keli Ngs.

Photobucket

The celebrity has left the building!

And ONTO an IMPORTANT mission!!

Photobucket

The POST OFFICE! To send that postcard Bah so badly wanted, and never got. I'm so sorry Bah. TRULY. We'll try again next time. And to the four of you who DID get my postcard, YOU'RE WELCOME!

But thanks to Abang Mayz also for bringing me there and helping me out. Kalau tak, korang tak nampak batang hidung postcard korang!

Oh and we were really shocked that we had to TAKE A NUMBER and QUEUE JUST to buy STAMPS! For FIVE measly postcards!!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Then off to....um, Emirate Mall? Whever Ski Dubai is lahh....

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Seriously, I was freaking about how cold it was gonna be cos I had JUST gotten slightly better so I didn't want to fall sick again. SO, I wore four layers of clothes and jackets.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

I ended up not having to worry so much cos it was pretty great, AND our breaths came out all smoky which was super cool and we got to have snowball fights, have Abang Mayz drag me on a sleigh (for kids), go zooming down the slide thing and scream our heads off on the boya thing. Leher macam nak patah sey!

It was -2 degrees, which is as cold as I can stand. Tina scared me too much with her tales of "your blood flows slower!" It was FINE.

Photobucket

Tina dandruff parah giler, Iza kater Oprah, Dr Phil pon tak boleh tolong.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

LOOK AT TINA. Nampak gemuk kan? Ladies and gentleman, THIS IS THE REAL TRUTH!

And riggght after we went out from there, we went straight for ice-cream!!! The best thing about going to Ski Dubai was I was already too cold to care about eating sweet unhealthy things anymore! SO I got ONE!! YAY my second ice-cream!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

As you can see, I was a little over-enthusiastic.

Photobucket

For godsakes people, let the celebrity pass through!!! And her uh, very glam-looking bodyguard.

Photobucket

Orang Muslim semua, BACA NIE!!! *sepak2 all those yang tak kisah, makan babi lah, makan frog legs lah*

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

SOOO many chocolatey things!! *chokes and dies*

6th Jan, Tuesday -

I think Aishah went on ANOTHER flight on this day...eh wait, I think THIS was when we went Sharjah!!! Well.

Off to Dragonmart and CHOCOLATE.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Abg Mayz, caught in action!!

Photobucket

Oh it's not for him.....it's for Mak actually! *shifty eyes*

Photobucket

Mak staring at the two monsters who wont stop eating.

Photobucket

Ah, the tallest building in the world!

Photobucket

Wild flamingos!! Of course, all of them protected by the Sheikh. You kill them, you go to jail.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Poring over kain at Chinani's. Or Cik Nani. Or whatever.
Mak: *while on the phone with Chinani* "Chinani tu boy ke girl??"

FYI, it's a man.

Photobucket

Okay that's all for now. Till my NEXT dubai post. Peace out!!

NATural Dubai Post

29th Dec, Monday - Well it was technically already the 29th, but in the wee hours of the morning. We went to Changi Airport and finally left for Dubai!

Photobucket

I was really excited to watch all the movies available. I ended up watching alot of teen/chick flicks. The flight TO dubai was pretty good, despite me freaking out alot cos I hate flying. Can't say the same for the flight back. BLUEK.

Photobucket
Photobucket

The amount of chocolates Abang Mayz got for us. Macam kedai mama.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Went off to, um somewhere, and the first shop we entered? Forever 21. Hehe. And then we went to Carrefour to get supplies. I cant really remember what we did the first day. Besides, this will NOT be a detailed entry. I'm too lazy.

Oh and we bought some brownie chocolate cake that I never got to try cos I got sick soon after. Sigh.

30th Dec, Tuesday -

2nd day in the UAE, we went to Fujairah, one of the 7 states of the United Arab Emirates.

Photobucket

Black and gold baby, combination! (Oh and this was the last day anybody ever saw these boots I'm wearing.)

Photobucket
Photobucket

Our fav place, Dragonmart, where we went to later in the night and where I bought slippers cos Sha's boots were trying to murder me.

Photobucket

This is just one picture of the many mosques that you can find in the UAE. Really aaa-lot.

Then we were off to see carpets and the mountains!

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket

It's really like a postcard kan?! But tiring okay, trying to climb up those rocks!

Then we had dinner at some place (wah I really suck, I really don't know where we went to!) where the food was too delicious for Abang Mayz and Izzah.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Oh wait I know where we went! We went to the place where I would eventually lose the ring Mak gave to me for my 19th birthday. Wow, thanks.

Photobucket

After dinner, we went to the beach nearby to look for.....

Photobucket

Can you see? It's ketam.

Photobucket

Boots on the beach.

Photobucket

I really like this picture. Truly, I did not know they were all pretending to beat me up! I was just being morose.

After we went Dragonmart, I really felt like crap and BOOM, was down with a fever.

31st Dec, Wednesday -

So cos I was sick, I was left behind while they went to do some major shopping. By they, I mean Iza.

Photobucket

I look really pathetic lah. I still do actually, right now. Bleargh.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Nutella punyer lah besar, stoppet sey.

Photobucket

Abang Mayz also changing into a pair of slippers. Flip flops are really the best!

Ah since I'm not involved in this day, let's skip. Nyet. Oh but they got home pretty early this day cos of poor old me.

1st Jan, Thursday - I think I'm getting all the dates pretty accurate! I hope. Ah but this was New Year's right? I remember the fireworks at Global Village!

I was pretty okay enough to head down to....Dubai Mall, I think? The biggest mall in the world. But we went there to look specifically at the aquarium. Wah best ah, really. Sedangkan I've never even gone into Underwater World at Sentosa. *kicks Sentosa*

And yes yes I get it, I look so shabby. Leave, leave, leave Madah AH-LONE! *does the dance*

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket

Then later at night, we went to Global Village, and Aishah got abit sick and had to go to the toilet pronto to throw up her ice-cream. Super gross.

But we were unrepentant as we went to have our first taste of chocolate fondue in Dubai.

Photobucket
Photobucket

And corn.

Photobucket

Unexpected fireworks.

Photobucket

Me attempting to sneakily walk away. Why?

Photobucket

Cos of these buggers, putting Tina's magnetic stones on their nose lah, in their hair lah. Pffft.

2nd Jan, Friday - 5th day.

This was Abu Dhabi day, capital of the UAE. I must say, I like Abu Dhabi alot more than Dubai. It's so family! So green and blue, with the sea right there! And got sea-planes! I wonder who owns them. Anyway, it seems alot more peaceful.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket

Who cares about image right? Noone knows us anyways.

Photobucket

"From the tip of my toes and I wrinkle my nose! Wherever it goes....I. Always. Know."

Photobucket
Photobucket

Yet another ice-cream shop. Don't mind me, I'm just bitter I didn't get to enjoy all the ice-cream.

Photobucket

Abang Mayz really, REALLY loves his food. He likes to explain and talk about them in great detail, you would think he's a chef! Too bad that we're all such picky eaters, me especially. Don't give me anything but chocolate!

But there's really alot of flavours and toppings. I think Iza had bubblegum, and Abang Mayz had like cake batter and raspberries, and strawberries and blueberries and dunno what else!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Photobucket
Photobucket

This is us, attempting to take a picture with the Emirates Palace as the background. The presidential house!! It's super ultra huge and imposing. Just the way they like it, I suppose.

And we also dropped by the FOURTH BIGGEST MOSQUE in the world!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Bhai said, "Eleh, tapi kau tak tahu pon the name of the mosque!"
WELL, Abg Mayz mentioned the name of the mosque IN THE VIDEO can. Nyet.

~*~

Oh really Im sick as a dog! Yesterday I went to school, feeling okay enough but still coughing phelgm. Then when going home with Yana, in the bus, I started shivering and by the time we got into the MRT, I felt like dying ah. I feel slightly better today but my phelgm now has blood in it and when I went to the doctor, it was closed. KNN. I really dont feel like doing anything but I'm scared leh, I'm dropping behind in school work. I need to buy textbooks and do readings! BOO. OKay bye.

NATural wedding business

The longest time the 5 of us had ever spent in each other's company, 24hours straight for 16 days. The horror, now that I think about it but throughout, we were at our most civilised. Despite all the burping.

26th Dec, Friday - Bubu's Henna night, which was pretty fun I must say. We all know what transpired there so let it not be mentioned again, or I swear I'll kill all of you and not attend the next henna night you guys invite me to! No pictures for this one cos, um, it's an all-girls party so we kind of let loose. A bit tak senonoh you know....Wakaka.

27th Dec, Sat - Bubu's Nikah. And we were all still not packed. Oh and something horrific happened. We realized that Tina's passport and mine was less than 6 months from expiring. So thus began a few hours of terror, when we really thought that Tina & me would have to be left behind. However, Iza woke up and she solved the problem within a second.

It's not really necessary to make sure your passport is 6 months from expiring unless you're gonna stay in that foreign country for more than 3 months, or if you're going to Indonesia. SO yes we were saved, obviously, since we made it to Dubai.

Photobucket

After the nikah, we headed downstairs to grab a bite. This was taken in the kitchen downstairs. Really takda kerje.

28th Dec, Sunday - The Sanding.

The bhangra boys came and with them, the bride and groom.

Photobucket

Haha I was really wondering if Amche was suddenly going to do silat again but alas, he did not. Boo. It would have been really fun! But we had our cousins do bhangra performances instead SO I'll show you guys that instead, once I have it up! Youtube sucks.

Photobucket

Luckily the wedding was rather calm. It was super sunny one minute, then raining the next, for like 3-4 times. BUT we mostly sat near the pelamin and watched people, and ate. Okay one more wedding for me to attend this January and then DAH OKAY PEOPLE. Dah, that's it. Stoppet sey!!

NATural goodbye

Came back from Global Village a while ago, gave Abang Mayz the shirt and tie that he himself picked out (unknowingly or not. I KNEW I should have bought it in secret but didn't know how to distract him. Boo) and now looking at Mak trying on her new clothes. Soon, I'll be back in Singapore. I miss Darlia & Sleeper!!!

I really love Baskin Robbins. I can just imagine TOP & Dae beside me. My goal is to eat ice-cream from there at least ONE MORE TIME before I leave, screw the swollen tonsils.

NATural coldness

I just realized that when I do my entries and say today, I always mean the day before. Cos I do my entries at 5am Singapore time. Anyways, today, as in Saturday 3rd Jan, we went to the beach. I'm not sure which beach though but the point was, when I came out of the car, I ended up on my knees, screaming "IT'S TOO COLD TO DO A SINGLE SHIT!"

Throughout the whole time I've been here, the beach was probably the coldest place. The waves were big enough for surfers and there were people shirtless, happily enjoying themselves and my family looked so kucing kurap-ily pathetic beside them, trying to wrap ourselves in the blankets we brought. It was just too windy, which you would expect at a beach but it was just FREEZING. Well excuse me but I come from a tropical country okay! *flips my hair* Oh and Iza & me tried dipping our legs in and the water's fine but omg, our legs were stinging like mad cos we just shaved and sakit macam kena bunuh.

~*
See how do you expect me to drag up enough energy OR time to blog properly when every 5 mins, people are calling me "Madah Madah Madah" to join them in the living room. Penat tau!!
~*

Anyways, we all went back completely dry....AND It just happened again. Somebody else calling me to go eat. SIGH. Seriously malas nak blog tau. AND HAPPENED AGAIN. AND AGAIN. Each time it's somebody different. Okay that's it. Supremely malas nak blog ever again unless it's korean or japanese. bye.

NATural gloowww

I just thought I should say that I'm really happy that my friends actually miss me and that I do miss them too, even though I kind of hole myself inside my house and camp in front of the computer when I'm in Singapore. Is it cos now I'm rarely online when you guys are so we don't get to chat and make it seem like we're really communicating? Haha! You guys definately motivate me to get something.....but seriously, benda di sini mahal dong. Tapi outlet2 and their malls are so syiok! If only Singapore was like this and um, affordable. *glares at all the branded shops*

And don't ask me for pictures! Okay I have the pictures with me right HERE but you know, I have to upload them into Photobucket and then....post them. I'm at the height of laziness. I just came back from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. No, Dubai is just the most popular city. I really like Abu Dhabi, all the greenery, and the sea and YOU KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE THERE? Something equivalent to the White House but I think, it's probably better cos it's not a house, it's the Presidential Palace. The Emirates Palace. Super coool and HUGE and oh another thing that happened today was that one of the Sheikhs meninggal dunia. Like not just any sheikh but the ruler of one of the states.

Abang Mayz said the last time the Sheikh of Dubai passed away, they had like 40 days off. Can you imagine? FORTY DAYS. Everything comes to a standstill sia, cos all the government offices are closed so nothing can be done. Tina & me were like, WHOOHOO. Gerek beb. But after a while, it gets super boring ah I guess. And crowded. Bleargh.

Oh I'm watching Donnie Darko now. One glance and I KNEW it was Donnie Darko, but seeing Drew Barrymore threw me off a little. I've never watched DD from the absolute start.......aaannddd my mum just changed the channel to watch Cast Away. Ah the horror. Shut up Tom Hanks! I hate you and your football! Okay again, I'm gonna go out and see what my sisters are up to. And get my hot water. I have a cough now. Yes Bah, high-5!

tata!

global village

After reading Fas's entry, I just realized that I did not do my normal ranting about how the Countdown Party is the most stupidest party ever thought of and all those people who actually buy tickets to attend the party so that they can float on top of the Singapore River and watch the clock chime 12 and scream "HAPPY NEW YEAR" and then think their lives are any less crappier than it was in 2008 when it actual fact, it just got worse cos they just got older.

So yeah I forgot to do that. Oh well.

See cos while it was all ha-hey-hoo in the Lion City (which is a very misleading name because we don't have lions. Hell, the whole of Southeast Asia dont have lions. And our National Lions, the football team, can't even put the ball into the back of the net. Ball. Net. Ball. Net. Inside Inside Inside. It's THAT simple), it was still around 8pm here in Dubai.

Oh I was sick on New Year's Eve. (HAH. Is there even such a thing as a "New Year"? Maybe, a "New Calendar".) I didn't follow my family out shopping but was at home, finishing New Moon (yes the 2nd book in the Twilight series). I say, I have alot of complaints about the book. I don't know whether she purposely left the loopholes there or was just too lazy to make it more comprehensive.

Speaking of lazy, whoever wrote the plot for Jumper was obviously too lazy to write a proper storyline. It started out of nowhere, the bad guy was Samuel L. Jackson (come on, he's THE Negotiator!) and then it ended out of nowhere. WHY can people jump? How many more are there out there? Why do Paladins hunt Jumpers? "Oh they've been doing it since the Middle Ages!" Bloody hell, I didn't ask you WHEN they started hunting Jumpers, I asked WHY! *slaps the character who had to answer stupidly* Am I asking for too much here people??

Wait, I was actually suppose to blog about things happening here in Dubai.

My sisters are outside in the living room, eating fish and I'm not joining them cos I don't eat fish. And watching a movie. Awww I feel utterly left out. Oh well. Oh wait, Iza just came in to sleep.

Okay so today we went to a place called "Global Village". Has goods from alot of different countries and the place got really cold cos we stayed till midnight. I was enthusiastic at first but when I got down to it, I realized that I really suck at shopping.

Ah but I knew I sucked at shopping ages ago. I can't do what Iza does, just pick up things and gush over them. Even if I like something, I probably won't say it. I remember walking around Mango with Sya, and we were touching the clothes and everything but I don't even remember what I saw. I wasn't even paying attention. And it's okay to be sucky at shopping I guess, but it stresses me out when I'm SUPPOSE to get something. It irritates me to see everybody getting stuff happily and I can't make up my mind about what to buy and I have horrible taste or rather, no taste at all cos I have absolutely no preference or any idea of what might be "nice".

So GENGMILAH, I'm really trying to figure out what I should get you guys. I don't even know what to get myself. It's not that I turn my nose up at everything. It's just that.......cows, I can't shop under pressure. Okay noone's pressuring me, we're all walking around leisurely and suuuper slowly but but but.......I really don't know what to get ah. Earrings? Clips? A bag that says "Dubai dubai dubai"? Honestly, do you want me to pick out something gaudy and tacky that you would be forced to wear or otherwise, hurt my feelings?

And until just now, I didn't even know where the post office was. But Abang Mayz did say he would bring me there if I wanted BUT the thing is, I don't have any of your addresses or any postcards. Which is utterly stupid. It's okay if I don't have postcards, I can always just send you guys the tissues I used last night as a momento BUT I need them addresses!

SO, writing this entry just makes me feel even more guilty, like I'm trying to squirm my way out. Don't worry I'll definately get you guys something. Even if it's the nosehairs of the kebab man okay?

The next thing I want to talk about is the performance at the "Thailand" section. Cows, I think Dr. Irving would be cringing and screaming in horror if he saw it. So COMMERCIALISED. I don't think the dance was even Thai lah, it looked more like Malay dance to me. And waving the Thailand flag? Omg people, can you get anymore tacky (than me)?? The. Horror.

I really hope I get better reaaal soon, but I don't think soon cos my throat is still kind of bengkak and I cough alot and I can feel alot of nonsense down in my lungs that's threatening to make an appearance if I eat anymore sweet stuff. It doesn't help that Abang Mayz loveess all these sweet stuff AND he bought us like a whole kedai mama's worth of chocolates and it's right beside me, asking me to eat it. SHUDDUP. *looks at the brownie cake* ARGH. Impossible.

And the ice-cream places here are to DIE for. I wish they would come to Singapore. *kicks Swensens and the other place....Hagen Daaz* Ben & Jerry, MOVE ASIDE. I think my favourite would have to be Baskin Robbins because,

1) Big Bang did a commercial ad for them and I was so happy to eat something that Big Bang endorsed. (is that the word? okay something Big Bang promoted lah.) Damn, advertising DOES work!

2) It's the only ice-cream I've tried so far cos I got sick after that.

Ahhhh the ice creams are CRAZY I tell you. I will always look down on Swensens after this. Oh the best thing about the UAE is probably that almost all the places are halal. Halal is like, taken for granted. Like DUH of course it's halal. So Iza went crazy and is trying to eat Subway almost everyday. It's fantastic lah.

OHHH I wasnt done with my New Year nonsense. Ah I really like this place. The UAE's um, Sheikh/Prime Minister/Ruler/Vice-President (hey I read all his titles okay, there was alot) cancelled all New Year's Eve celebrations to show solidarity with the Palestinian people, who were being bombed by Israel. I say, "Gua caya sama lu!"

It's kind of a big deal but I still have not grasped just how big of a deal it was. Aishah's roomate (who's so cute and gorgeous, you guys should see her. HEY, I should take her picture) was saying something like how people actually flew to Dubai to celebrate the New Year here (she was like, "Tom Cruise is here!!") but then woke up on New Year's Eve to find out that all plans have to be cancelled, and that it would affect the tourism industry and Dubai's image. I guess. There were no fireworks on NYE but there was on NY! At global village! So unexpected. And people's reactions to it were alot calmer and less kiasu than Singaporeans.

Eh this post is getting too long. I shoulgo out and see if Tina & Sha are still alive. Dorang tengok TV ke TV tengok dorang nieeee.......okay bye!

Yana.S just said that I should blog more and yes I should! But I don't have time to really be on the computer you know. Usually we would go out and then come back and chillax and sleep or watch TV. I had the whole day to blog today but I didnt know I was connected to the Internet so I just read "New Moon" and did nothing else.

Why I was left alone at home? Cos I have a fever. Yes it's very sad. *waves off the sympathetic crowd*

I would blog more but I can hear Iza & Sha laughing like hyenas out in the living room and I'm very curious as to what can be so funny. Tina & me are gonna go check it out now. Mak is snoring beside me. Iza & Sha can argue one minute and be in cahoots the next. So annoying. *throws plates at their heads* Okay go!
